Christmas Eve 2009

On Christmas Eve we went to Peoria to Jeff and Susan's (Adam's sister's home) for a family dinner. We had a great time. All the kids played together and all of us adults got to visit. When we got home we let the kids open "JUST ONE GIFT". Guess What they all got?????

Having Fun!!!!

After they opened their gifts, we made cookies for Santa, kept good track of Santa on the Internet, sprinkled Santa Dust over the front yard, and left oatmeal out for the reindeer. They Adam read ''Twas the Night Before Christmas" to all of us. Then the kids asked to track Santa "JUST ONE MORE TIME". This time the Internet was being tooooooo sloooooow, and it wouldn't pull up the Santa Tracker. We knew that it must of been because SANTA was soooo close to our house and that we must hurry and get to bed, or we would have been skipped for sure. So off to bed we all went.

Christmas Card and Newsletter

In order to cut costs without cutting the people we love, this is our version of our Holiday Newsletter and Christmas Card. Hopefully next year you will all receive a copy in the mail rather than an email or blog posting. You should be able to click on the pictures below to get a bigger image so that you can read the letter.

Ornament Exchange Party

Every Year my friend Cathy hosts an Ornament and Goody Exchange Party. It is so much fun. It's a LADIES ONLY party. We each bring 4 of the same ornament. One goes to Cathy, the other 3 are wrapped differently and exchanged white elephant style at the party. Every person also brings 5 dozen of their favorite goody and the recipe to exchange with everyone there. Thanks Cathy for always hosting this fun exchange party.

The Invitation...

This is the ornament I chose for this year.

My Goodies for the Exchange

Here is the Recipe, if you would like to try them.

The next day at the High School, they had a holiday "Bake Off"
between all the techers and staff.
I had made enough of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Sweeties
for Adam to take for his entry.
GUESS WHAT?????
Adam Won!!!!
We got a $25 gift Card for winning 1st Place

Collin's Band Concert

On December 8th, Collin had his band concert at Simonton. Collin plays the trumpet. He had really improved since school started. The songs they played were Farm Out, Go Tell Bill, Good King Wenceslas, Mary Ann, Jolly Old St. Nicholas and Power Rock. From where we were sitting it was hard to get any pictures of Collin playing so the pictures are snap shots that were taken before they begin. He is surrounded by his buddies. Good Job Collin, your efforts are paying off!!!

November 27 - Freestone Park

McKenzie and Morgan spent today with Grandpa & Grandma Short while Adam and I went shopping for "Black Friday Deals". They had alot of fun. They played at Freestone Park, went to McDonalds for lunch, and played "OOPS" (a dice game that Grandma Short taught us) at Desert Mountain Park.

Thank You Grandpa & Grandma Short

November 23rd - McKenzie's Turkey

Kendon's Cereal Box Report

Time for another creative book report for Kendon !!!

This quarters book report assignment was to create a Cereal about your non-fiction book. This is the book that Kendon picked for his report...

Kendon's teacher gave him an outline of what each side needed to have on it. This is what we came up with....

The first picture is the front of the Cereal Box. You can't tell from the picture but the cereal has a 3-D affect to it, along with the milk and the spoon.

The next picture is of the back of the cereal box.

Right Side

Bottom of the Box
(This was an extra item that we did. I thought it would be fun to add the bar-code =o)!!! )

Kendon and his finished Cereal Box
For the oral report in class, Kendon had to have a commercial promoting his cereal.
He held the cereal up and this is what he said.....

Who all wants to be a hero?

Well then I’ve got just the right cereal for you…

MINI MUNCHKINS!!!

Mini Munchkins have a yummy, crunchy oatmeal taste,

That is sure to be a cereal

You will never replace!

These funny little people you see,

Will surely make you wanna be…..

A HERO!!!

For every box that you buy today,

On the back you will have a game to play!!!

It’s made of many different types

Of characters from the book called

“THE LITTLES”

I hope you enjoy this heroic brand,

BUY one now, there’s a great demand!!!

Thank you!!

Kendon did an AWESOME JOB!!!!
